The unfinished Ghazni–Paktika road has achieved completion in the only format currently available: the progress report.
Under the project's revised accounting system, an inspection counts as a kilometre, a renewed commitment counts as two, and an official pointing into the distance qualifies as a bridge. The report now reaches Paktika comfortably. Drivers are advised to use another route.
Residents bringing complaints have been asked to specify whether they object to the road itself or its successful completion. Only the second category can be addressed without machinery.
The next inspection has been postponed until the road is safe enough for the officials to visit.
